Today we will learn about the two characters of Lima: the modern one, reflected in the districts of Miraflores and San Isidro; and the historic one, encapsulated in its historic center declared a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Along the tour through different districts of the city, we will see how the old and the modern coexist in buildings such as the Museum of Italian Art, Palace of Justice, Museum of Lima, Plaza San Martín, among others. We will discover the center of Lima on foot, having the Main Square as the focal point: a beautiful colonial square worthy of photography, surrounded by emblematic buildings such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral and the Archbishop's Palace. We will have the opportunity to enter one of the most iconic ecclesiastical spaces in Lima, the Convent of Santo Domingo, also declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity and where the relics of three Peruvian saints are found: Santa Rosa de Lima, San Martín de Porres and San Juan Macías. The tour would not be complete without a visit to the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum, one of the most important in the country, exhibiting a valuable collection of almost 45,000 pieces of pre-Hispanic cultures, especially the Mochicas. A journey full of art, culture, and flavor awaits us in Lima's bohemian neighborhood par excellence: Barranco. The deeper we go into Barranco, the more we will be surprised by its picturesque houses, many of them converted into workshops or museums, as is the case of Jade Rivera and Victor Delfin. We will enter both to learn a little more about the artists' work and see unique pieces. Barranco is characterized by the energy breathed into its beautiful boardwalk, with an extraordinary view of the Pacific Ocean. Following it, we will arrive at the Bridge of Sighs or 'Puente de los Suspiros', one of the most important attractions of the district, inspiring unique legends and motivating songs and poems. The renowned interpreter Chabuca Grande dedicated one of her most popular songs to it, and we will see a sculpture in her honor. As we walk towards the district's main square, we will see dozens of colorful murals with which we can take pictures. The flavor touch awaits at El Cacaotal, a favorite place for chocolate and coffee lovers, where we can taste a drink and learn more about the high quality of Peruvian coffee and cocoa.
