Camden Travel Tours: Helpful Tips

Passport

A passport is a travel document that serves as the ultimate form of proof of your citizenship. Every country issues passports to citizens of that country. The United States Department of State issues US passports.

Processing Times

  • The routine processing period for passports was 7-10 weeks.
  • Mailing time for both your application and completed passport could add about 4 weeks to the process.
  • You can typically have your application expedited for a $60 fee, which might reduce processing time to 3-5 weeks. There are also options for urgent and emergency travel.

Visa

A citizen of a foreign country who seeks to enter a destination country generally must first obtain a visa of that country, which is placed in the traveler’s passport, a travel document issued by the traveler’s country of citizenship.

Before You Go

Please make sure you have the following covered:

Prepare your documents:

  •  Make sure your passport is valid and make a copy to keep in a separate place. You should also verify the visa requirements for your destination country.
  • Visas
  • International driving permits
  • Documents required for traveling with minor children
  • Required vaccinations and supporting documents

 Pack wisely:

  • Bring a sturdy travel bag, a day bag, a universal travel adaptor, a reusable water bottle, and medications. Don't pack too much.

Make sure to sign up for travelers' insurance:

  •  If flights are canceled or medical emergencies happen, travel insurance may offer financial protection.

Check your Cell Phone Plan:

  • Rates and rules for roaming can vary among mobile service providers and may get more complex when traveling internationally. That’s why it could help check its international roaming rates and track your usage. If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, you could try contacting your cellphone provider directly.

Planning for the Airport:

  •  When traveling internationally, the best practice at the airport is to arrive at least three hours before your flight to allow ample time for check-in, security screening, immigration procedures, and reaching your gate, especially considering the potential lines and complexities involved with international travel
